Murphy, Texas

Murphy has grown from a tiny Texas town to a fast-growing suburb of the Metroplex.  A few reminders of a slower placed life remain on Murphy Road, which bisects the town.

Developments along Murphy Road include ranchettes of an acre or two that were built in the early 80's.  The zoning was set to allow for horses, depending on the amount of acreage.  There you may find horse stalls, an orchard or huge gardens behind huge wide lots.

The population really began to expand in the 1990's.  There were homes for most tastes and the developments many times included and continue to have a planned community center along with open green spaces, swimming pools, playgrounds and even occasionally tennis courts. Homes range in price from the 120's up to as high as the 300,000's.  This includes homes with as much as 3,000 to 4,000 square feet.  Amenities also include dramatic fireplaces and high ceilings in family rooms and living rooms in the more expensive home.
Murphy is located just east of the Richardson panhandle and west of Wylie.  The northwestern part of Murphy runs into Plano.  Some shopping centers are available, as well as open farm land.  The schools are excellent and are divided into Plano and Wylie school districts.  The dividing line between the school districts is Murphy Road.  The Pecan Hollow Golf Club of Plano is an attractive golf course that lies between Murphy and parts of Plano.  On the southwestern side of Murphy homeowners take advantage of the proximity of Breckenridge Park, which covers several hundred acres.  Location for commuting is also a plus.  Dart trains are available just a few miles away for a trip to downtown Dallas, Bush Freeway or Central Expressway can easily deliver commuters to all parts of the Metroplex.

Many new homes are being built in Murphy.  I can help you with a preowned home or the purchase of a new home.   The new stadium for the new high school is a reminder of how much Murphy has grown.
