Richardson was a small town back in the 50's when Texas Instruments began to grow.  The high technology growth of
Texas Instruments and others began the growth that made Richardson a unique combination of old and new.  The city has been successful in its blend of excellent city services and also has a sophisticated Richardson Chamber of Commerce, upscale hotels, hight tech industrial parks, library system, extensive neighborhood centers, Richardson symthony and also include a 4- year university, University of Dallas at Richardson and Richland Community College.

Education ranks high in the minds of the inhabitants of this city. Young people like to return to the area where they grew up.Richardson at Breckenridge park view  The ambiance of such heavily treed areas as Canyon Creek, Prairie Creek, Cottonwood Estates, and parts of Richardson Heights attracts lots of homebuyers.  Other areas such as Spring Park in E. Richardson and the newer homes being built east of 190 and around Renner have been in close proximity to golf courses, creeks and Park which form part of a nature preserve and green corridor all the way through Plano and beyond.  Its 90,000 or more inhabitants
feel that they have the best of both worlds --- a small town atmosphere close to the hustle and bustle of Dallas.
